Board Position DescriptionsPRESIDENT1. Chief Executive of Organization. Responsible for chairing Board Meetings and other miscellaneous meetings. Represents CWSC Soccer at various soccer related functions as appropriate. Responsible for setting tone and charting future directions (strategic role). 2. Responsible for the smooth running of the league, and ensuring that all Board members are performing their jobs adequately. 3. Responsible for smooth functioning of all home CWSC soccer games. This includes inspecting fields for safety, making sure goals are anchored, and monitoring appropriate coaching and parental conduct. These functions can be delegated but are the ultimate responsibility of the president.
VP OF OPERATIONS1. Assist the President in performing his/her duties. Conduct CWSC Board meetings when the President is not present. 2. Coordinate the Select Program. Interview and select Coaches (with VPs of Coaching and Player Development), schedule and coordinate tryouts, provide coaches with advice regarding competition, management and administrative issues. 3. Coordinate game field assignments by providing field availability information to District 5 for Fall Select leagues and to VP of Competition for Fall Rec leagues. Assign game times for any OYSA entries. Coordinate with school districts to fit in with youth football, adult soccer and non-CW youth soccer game requests. 4. Coordinate use of lighted practice fields with school districts and Select teams in preparation for State Cup play (Nov-Mar) and coordinate scheduling of all home games for the WSYSA State Cups including requests from non-CW teams. 5. Support scheduling and operation of CW Revolution Tournament, CYSF tournaments, etc… 6. Coordinate special projects at the request of the president like building sheds, installing equipment storage facilities, etc…
TREASURER1. Responsible for managing league's finances and annual reports. 2. Report to board monthly.
SECRETARY1. Sends out notifications of all meetings. 2. Keeps accurate minutes of all meetings and distributes same accordingly. 3. Monitors soccer phone line and distribute calls accordingly. 4. Schedules board meetings.
VP OF PUBLICITY1. Contact media with regards to all CWSC club events in a timely manner. 2. Prepare communication flyers for CWSC & distribute to schools and appropriate media.
COMMISSIONER TO ECYSARepresent club by attending ECYSA meetings & reporting activities back to club.
VP OF COMPETITION1. Evaluate teams and place then in divisions by age group for games in the fall season based on scores and standings. 2. Attend the CYSF placement meeting at the beginning of the season AND the mid point of the season so schedules can be done by CYSF. 3. Coordinate the CYSF End of the Season Tournament for the age group your club is hosting that year the weekend after the regular season ends.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATORMaintain list of volunteers interested in helping the club. Contact volunteers on an “as needed” basis.
VP OF MINISCoordinate the clubs mini-program, including training for players & coaches.
VP OF SPONSORSActively, solicit donations from community for CWSC program.
FIELD COORDINATORSchedule practice fields for all teams.
REGISTRARS (2 Positions - BOYS & GIRLS)1. Maintain records of all players for web site and database. 2. Check the post office box regularly 3. Check registrars voice mail regularly and respond to all questions or direct to appropriate individual 4. Coordinate registration 5. Maintain registration forms and information at library and recreation department 6. Submit player lists and fees CWSC Soccer 7. Provide timely registration status to player agents through out registration period 8. View birth certificates of all new players 9. Collect all appropriate fees and turn money over to treasurer 10. Print and sign rosters for CWSC teams.
VP OF TEAM EQUIPMENT1. Responsible for purchasing & distributing all uniforms and equipment needed by the league. REFEREE COORDINATOR1. Shall schedule referees for all at home games. 2. Shall coordinate all referee training.
VP of Pitches (Fields)1. Liaison between CWSC and Cities of Camas and Washougal as well as WSD and CSD for use of facilities to be utilized as game and practice facilities. 2. Assign practice fields to individual teams. (Includes mediating scheduling conflicts between teams.) 3. Assist Club Tournament Host team (s) with lying out and lining of fields needed for tournament play. 4. Coordinate portable restroom placement and pick up from contractor for facilities used by CWSC. 5. Assist in any other club support when possible.
WEBMASTER:1. Responsible for maintaining the club's portion of the website. 2. Maintaining registration of the web address (www.cwsoccer.com). 3. Maintaining the accounts necessary to host the website. 4. Administering email accounts and permissions. 5. Updating information on the website as supplied by other board departments. 6. Updating relevant information by your own initiative for the benefit of club members, and the public. 7. Improving the website interface to keep a current, efficient, and attractive in appearance. Webmaster Skills/Tools:1. The website is primarily administered with Microsoft FrontPage 2003. 2. A strong knowledge of web graphics and graphic manipulation programs is necessary. 3. Conversion of documents from multiple sources for proper display on the internet. 4. Further development to improve the website's functionality and appearance would be welcomed. 5. Before the website undergoes significant change, the webmaster will need to deploy a beta site for testing by the board members. 6. This is a volunteer-based minimally compensated position; the compensation is intended to offset the monthly cost of a home based broadband internet connection.

VP OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT1. Main focus of Player Development is to provide programs that will develop the children in soccer development. To achieve this he/or/she must Coordinate, organize, and disseminate any and all information pertinent to clinics, instruction, courses, publications, etc. for coaches. Work closely with coaching director in the training of coaches and player development programs. 2. Some of the goals in this position would include: 3. Provide and communicate between CWSC and various outside clubs regarding all soccer training programs. 4. Assist the coaching director in organizing F and E licensing courses for coaches on any annual basis as needed. 5. Together with other selected board members, choose the coaches, if and when more than one person has applied for a particular position. 6. Organize spring, summer and fall camps. 7. Prepare a scholarship fund for camps and programs.
