Registration FAQ's
(Frequently Asked Questions)

Registration FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions):

  • When do sign-ups begin?  On-line registration opens May 1st for the fall season. There  will be a $10.00 late fee for all players registering after August 1st.

  • How much does it cost to play?  The cost for a U-5 to U-8 player will be $55.00, U-9 to U-19 will be $75.00 and all Select players will pay $155.00 in 2009.  Our goal is to make soccer accessible for all so if anyone is having difficulties paying they should contact the registrars, Claudia (girlsreg@cwsoccer.com ) or Eric (boysreg@cwsoccer.com ).

  • I changed my mind, can I get a refund?  Yes, but there are no refunds after August 1. Exception: doctor’s note stating player cannot play or if you have moved out of the area.

  • How do I register?  For accuracy of player information, CWSC is strongly encouraging on-line registration. Registration is not considered complete until payment has been received and posted to your account, and we have verified that we have a state issued birth certificate copy on file.  Registration can be initiated online.  You can either pay online or you can send your payment via mail to the club. Payment and birth certificate copies can be mailed to: Camas Washougal Soccer Club, PO Box 981, Camas WA 98607

  • When will I know what team my child is on?  Coaches will notify players by August 1st. If you do not hear from a coach by August 15th, contact the club registrar by email or the club line (360)834-6292.

  • What age group is my child?  See the age division chart to find your age division.

  • Is my child old enough to play soccer?  The legal age to play soccer is four (4) years old on or before July 31. There are no exceptions.

  • If I played for Camas Washougal Soccer Club prior to this year must I turn in my birth certificate?  We only ask for birth certificates from players who are new to the club.

  • Will you accept a hospital issued birth certificate?  No, Washington State Youth Soccer Association (WSYSA) requires all players to submit a state issued certificate of live birth in order to be assigned to a team.

  • When do practices start?  Practice times and start dates are vary depending on your team.  Most teams will begin practicing sometime in August.  Some of the older teams start in July if they are playing in summer tournaments. Most teams practice twice per week.

  • When do games start?  Games start the Saturday after Labor Day weekend.

  • How long does the season last?  The season is 8-12 weeks, depending on age.

  • Does my child have to try-out?  Try-outs are held for players age 10 and older wishing to play at an advanced level of competition. These teams are "select" teams and only play other "select" teams in our district.  All other teams are recreational teams, players are assigned based on last year's team, team request, and sign-up date.

  • Can my child keep the same coach he/she had last year?  All returning players are guaranteed a spot on their last year's team if they sign up by June 15th.  After June 15, players are assigned to a team according to sign-up date.

  • What do I do if I am having trouble registering through cwsoccer.com?  If you are having trouble accessing your registration account it is probably because your e-mail address or phone number has changed in the last year.  Please go to cwsoccer.com and contact the appropriate registrar stating in your message the trouble you are having, your name and your child’s name, your telephone number and your new e-mail address.  The registrars will update your account and then e-mail you your username and password.

  • My neighbor does not have access to a computer, or their computer is not working, can I register their child from my account?  Please do not do this, it messes up the data base and makes it difficult for coaches to contact players!  If someone is having trouble registering please have them leave a message on the soccer line at 834-6292 or e-mail one of the registrars for them stating the name of the person having difficulties and their phone number.  The registrars will get in contact with them.

  • Who do I contact if I need additional answers?  Contact the appropriate registrar if you have more questions.  Claudia, girlsreg@cwsoccer.com, or Eric, boysreg@cwsoccer.com .
